3D Heart Nails Art Design

1- After filing nails and waiting for your base coat to dry, paint one to two coats of your lightest color. Wait at least 30 minutes for the polish to dry.
2- Apply tape. you can use trimmed Scotch tape, or striping tape. You’ll need four pieces for every nail.
3- Alternating every other space, paint the triangles your second color.
4- Wait at least 10 to 20 minutes before removing the tape. You’ll be left with this design, which is actually pretty cool.
5- To create the hearts, use the back end of a paintbrush to create two small dots. You can also use a straight pin, bobby pin or dotting tool.
6- Create a V-shape underneath the two dots and fill in the center.
7- Wait for the hearts to dry and then apply a topcoat to seal in your design. Use a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover to clean up the cuticles.

Newspaper Nails Manicure

How To :
- Apply a thin layer of your favorite base coat. Then, apply two coats of any polish in a light to medium shade.
- Find any newspaper on-hand. Cut ten 2" x 1" strips (one for each nail), and set aside.
- Dip the whole nail into a small bowl of rubbing alcohol. Then, dip one newspaper strip into your small bowl of alcohol and shake it out.
- Overlay that newspaper strip directly on the nail bed and don't move!
- Take an alcohol-dampened paper towel and apply light pressure on the nail like a temporary tattoo.
- After 10 full seconds, slowly peel off the strip and you'll see the ink imprint. Repeat this process for each nail.
- Allow nails to dry again for five full minutes, then seal the deal with your favorite top coat.

Make a French-Style Side Braid

Steps :
1 : Start by separating a small section of hair from the bottom of the sweep of hair going across the back of your neck.
2 : Split this section of hair into three sections and begin braiding as usual. Grab one of the outer sections and cross it over to the middle, then grab the outer section on the opposite side and pull it to the middle.
3 : Continue braiding, add a section of loose hair from the hair sweeping over your other shoulder before you move it to the middle. By the time the (once-small) braid reaches the opposite side of your head, it should contain all your hair, not just the little section.
4 : When you reach the opposite ear, braid the rest of your hair like a normal braid.
5 : Secure the end of the braid with an elastic band, arrange any wisps of hair that are hanging out, and spray with hair spray if desired.

Get Easy And Sexy Beach Waves

How To Style :
Step 1 : Start with slightly damp or naturally dried hair. Then Divide the hair into three sections: One on top, two on the bottom. Pin up the top section on top of your head.
Step 2 : Now, in each section, start working with smaller 3-inch chunks at a time.
Step 3 : Spray the Ocean Mist on each sub-section, making sure not to saturate the hair. Then Gather the sprayed section in your hand in an S-shape.
Step 4 : Scrunch the coiled hair slightly as you heat it with a dryer.
Step 5 : Intensify the new wave shape where needed with a straightener, making sure to follow the direction of the wave.
Step 6 : Finish it off with the Medium-Hold Hairspray and some Straight and Shine Spray on top to give the look gloss.

Edgy Half Moon Mani

I've seen tons of half moon manis out there, and I'm sure you have too. Well, I like to do things a tad different, if you haven't noticed. This is my edgier version of it. For this I used Wet n' Wild Hannah Pinktana, and Sinful Black on Black. Trsut me, Hannah Pinktana, is really fairly holo, but I didn't have any sun when I did this mani :(
Here is 2 coats of Hannah Pinktana over black.
This is how I cut my tape to do this design
You then tape it on your nail, like so
Once you polish on your 2nd color, black in this case, remove the tape ASAP, and you will have this
Repeat this for all your nails, and once you're done, add your top coat, mine is SV, Seche Vite

A Sexy Cami you all need!

This applies like magic. It really only needed 1 coat, but I did 2 anyways.
Then I also grabbed 2 new Nicoles, and this one is CRAZY holo, Make A Coment-Ment, I also love the name :P
Ummm...can you see all that prettiness?!?!? This was only 1 coat too.
and since it's been a while, I decided to use my Born Pretty Hello Kitty plate, and add some white and silver flowers. For the flowers I used both Konad White and China Glaze Millenium on the same flower, it is kind of hard to tell, but I promise each flower is 2 colors :P

Birds of a feather flock together, Feather Mani..... (giveaway sneak peek)

What I did, was paint a fairly thick layer of the glue onto my nail, and trimming the feather, as close as I could see, placed it onto my nail with tweezers, lightly pressing it down. I then added some more glue to my brush and did a coat over the entire feather and nail. Then when it was mostly dry, I went around with clippers, and clipped as much of the excess off the sides and tips that I could. Then when that was done, I did 2 coats of SV. It is perfectly smooth and shiny. Since I only did one nail on each hand, the rest of the mani is Brucci Blackened Emerald.

So what do you guys think? Have any of you tried it? I got soooo many compliments it was crazy.

Hello Kitty Funky French Nail Art thanks to Born Pretty

Most image plates have a very thin film that you might not even see. Just make sure to remove it.
Before I started stamping, I applied 2 coats my base coat of Brand 10, color #415, Pinky Promise
Now on to stamping. I used the flower image on the plate first, and used China Glaze Millenium for them. Then I used the cute Hello Kitty image, and Konad polish in black for that :)
Finally I did my black tips with Sinful's Black on Black and added a tiny rhinestone to her bow :)

When a swatch becomes a full fun mani

This is 2 coats pre-tape :)
cut 4 very thin strips of tape for each nail. When they were all done, I added 2 coats of SV on top

Water Marble Picture Tutorial

When I start, I make sure all the lids are off. Here I just dropped in a blob of my first color, Gray Area, and you can see it spreads.
Then I dropped in a blob of White on White, right in the center of the Gray Area
and dropped in a blob of the OPI
I repeated the 3 colors again, until I was happy with how it looked.
Then using my pencil, I lightly drag the polish into designs in the cup
This is what it looked like, when I stopped, and I liked the designs I had.
I tape each finger, using 3 pieces of tape.
and dip your nail into it, at an angle.
Once you have fully dipped your nail, I take my pencil, and with my nail still in the water, swipe it around my nail, and this picks up all the excess polish, so you don't ruin your nail, when you remove it from the water.
Then once all fingers are cleaned up, and my top coat has been applied, this is my final mani :)

How To Make Katniss Hair Braid

This braid is an inside-out braid and it's easier to do when your hair is a little wet, but you can do it with dry hair too. Wet hair helps it grab better and the braid from the movie is very tight...but for those of us who use braided styles as our go to for bad, or dirty hairs days (myself included), it still looks great done loosely on dry hair.

Braided Hair Style Tutorial

Steps :
-You need two elastic bands and a couple of hair pins.
-I like to start by curling my hair slightly with a curling iron, but this step is totally up to you! I think this braided hair is great with straight hair, wavy or curled, as long as your hair has enough length to wrap a braided piece around the back of your head
-First part your hair in the center. Then take a strand of hair right above your ear, leaving your bang, if you have it.
-Then braid tightly.
-Braid till the end, and tie it with the elastic band.
-The side will look like this.
-Do the same for the other side.

Instructions To Apply Hair Tinsel

Instructions To Apply Hair Tinsel :

1. Fold tinsel strand in half
2. Pinch folded tinsel about 3 inches from the top to create a loop and hanging tail
3. With your opposite hand, reach through the loop and pull the tail of strands through to create a basic slip knot
4. Slide the knot through no more than 3 pieces of hair and pull the knot tight at the base so that it seals at the scalp
5. Gather both the tinsel ends in one hand and the strands of hair in your other hand and make a simple knot at the base of the hair shaft and release

Peppermint Mani......

So I'm sure you've seen TONS of holiday manis, along with the peppermint/candy cane designs. I wanted to try this design myself, and even though at first I didn't like it, it did finally grow on me. I think my dislike was due to the fact that the lines weren't 100% even. I tend to get a smidge anal when it comes to things like that, but as a friend on MUA said, it's better that they are, because it looks more candy like. If they were perfect it would resemble a barbershop pole, lol. Well, she was right!
For this I used China Glaze's White on White, and Milani's Red Sparkle, along with....Scotch tape of course :P

Ummm....Nope! DO NOT WANT

This is one of those manis, that didn't turn out how I expected, but it actually looks better in the pics, lol. I received my set of new Bundle Monster plates a few days ago, and only had 1 night of play time so far. I saw what appeared to be peacock feathers, and since I'm kind of on a kick, I decided to use that image first :) Okay, well I started with a coat of black and a coat of Sally Hansen Turquoise Opal. I figured that all the colors in Turq. Opal, would resemble feathers better. I'm sure I would have liked this better, had I used different colors, and didn't eff up the design placement on my pinkie. It drove me crazy, lol
Then I used China Glaze Millenium and plate BM 212 for my design

Summer Chic mani

I started with my go to base of Professional 10 #415 Pinky Promise. I get mine from CVS. Then after a coat of SV and about 10 minutes, and taped my nails off, and did black tips. I hen did one more coat of SV, and when it was dry, and added a tiny drop of nail glue on my ring finger, and set the orange slice over top.

Pink Flowers & Pearls

How To :
I started with 1 coat of Merino Cool
added 1 coat of Busted
Then stamped with Outrageous
and then, because they were sitting next me, I added some ivory pearls in the center of the flowers, on my ring fingers.

Umm...Not how I pictured in my head

Okay, so not all my ideas are great, lol. If only you guys could see in my head, the way this was supposed to turn out! Anyways, this is the idea that I didn't finish on my previous post, because I thought with the glitter it would have been too much. Well I just don't like it with the butterfly. Oh well.  For this I used Sinful's Black on Black and Confetti Debutante.

Once again, I started with my black
Then this is how I cut my tape. I didn't want perfectly straight lines, so I did this.
and finally with a cute butterfly. I am just not feeling the look of this, and had it pictured different in my head.

bigRuby Nail Tattoos - Review & Giveaway *EDIT*

If you are interested in puchasing these, you can get them here.

The effect is really great, and I'm so pleased with it. It really was so easy, and my nail does not look like I have a tattoo/sticker of any kind on it, it looks like a nail stamped design :)
Now for the top coat. I do like it & it did dry fast compared to any other regular top coat, but not as fast as my Seche Vite. It also maintained it's shininess. The smell was about 100 times better than SV though, lol. The tattoos I would def, purchase, but I would probably skip the top coat since it is kind of pricey, but then again, if you don't like the smell of SV, or you have issues, ie. shrinkage and/or polish peeling off in sheets, this might be a great alternative for you.
Now, it gets even better. Not only did I receive a set to try, but I was also given a full et for one of you!! Yep, the very kind Maria, sent me a full 2nd set of tattoos along with their topcoat. So just fill this form out, and Good Luck! Once agains

DIY! Your Step-by-Step for the Best Cute Hairstyles

How To Style :

1. First, tie your hair into a ponytail that rests halfway between the nape of your neck and the top of your head.

2. Take a section of hair at the top of the ponytail and tuck it forward with a pin to keep it out of the way for now. Divide the rest of the ponytail into 6 to 8 equal sections.

3. Now, starting from the left, take each section of hair, one at a time, and gently twist it under to create a big loop and secure the loop with a bobby pin.

4. Next, unclip the top section, and divide it into 4 equal sections.

5. Again, working from left to right, take one section at a time and tuck it around your finger to form a tighter loop. Pin the loop to secure it above the larger loops you created first.

6. Repeat the process with the other three sections of hair. Remember, these four small loops should rest above the lower, bigger loops. Finish the look by spraying with hairspray to keep your style looking polished and neat.

PINTEREST OF THE WEEK: SPARKLY HOLIDAY NAILS

nails

How to do it:

Step 1: Apply the base coat.
Step 2: Swipe on two coats of the white nail polish. Tip: Waite used China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Frosty, but she had to apply three coats, which extended the drying time significantly. Instead, she recommends using Essie Nail Polish in Marshmallow. Apply thin layers of the polish and wait a few minutes between each coat to speed up the overall drying time.
Step 3: Create the glitter gradient effect by dabbing a generous amount of red and green glitter top coat onto the tips of your nails. Then spread the glitter down toward your cuticle.
Step 4: Let the polish dry for a few minutes. Then finish your nails with a fast-dry top coat.
Step 5: To keep your cuticles and nails looking nice through the winter season, Waite recommends massaging on a cuticle cream daily. Try: Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. Tip: "If you have trouble remembering to apply, I'd suggest placing your balm or lotion somewhere where you will see it and be reminded, like near your computer monitor or next to the TV remote," Waite says

No Curler, No Worry! Braid Waves To The Rescue!

hair tutorials

How To Do :
1-Start with damp hair; this is important for helping the waves set properly. I prefer to dampen the bottom two thirds of my hair using a squirt bottle, leaving my roots dry.
2-Run a heat protecting serum (I like to use Redken Smooth Lock Heat Glide) throughout the bottom two-thirds of hair and then brush through hair to distribute the product and to remove any knots in the hair—it’s important to have smooth, tangle-free hair when braiding.
3-Section hair into 5-10 big sections and braid each into a loose braid. Keep in mind that the smaller the braid, the tighter the waves and the larger the braid, the looser the wave. It’s also important to continue to spritz hair as the untouched sections dry; to create consistent results throughout, each braid needs to be equally damp when initially braided. Also, if you braid from the tip of the root to the very end of the hair you will have a more texture than if you start each braid a few inches from the roots. Because braids start to become smaller as you move down the shaft, I like to stop braiding a few inches before I get to the end of the strands—this allows them to dry with their own natural wave instead of becoming extremely kinky (which is the result of a super small braid). Because hair is its most fragile when wet, it’s important to be gentle when braiding to avoid breakage.
4-Once all sections of hair have been braided, use a blow dryer to add heat to the braids until they are completely dry—removing the braids before they are 100 percent dry will change the results of the waves, leaving them with less hold.
5-For extra staying power, run a flatiron over each braid. Let the braids set while you continue your morning routine—finish you makeup, eat breakfast, get dressed, check your email—giving the braids a chance to cool completely.
6-Once braids have cooled, begin to carefully undo each one. Do not brush or comb through waves—this will cause them to deconstruct. Finally, Spritz hair with a light hold hairspray (like Kenra Platinum Working Spray 14).

The Copper Smokey Eye For The Green Eyed Girl

makeup

How To Do :
Step 1: Start with clean eyes and apply primer all over the lid up to your brow bone. Elf Primer is a great alternative to Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. For only 1 dollar compared to a 20 dollar primer, it’s a must have.
Step 2: Apply a red toned brown shadow all over the lid up to the crease with a wide blending brush. Mac’s Brown Script is matte and has great pigmentation with no fallout.
Step 3: Sweep the copper shimmer shadow from the inner corner to the middle of the lid with a small flat shader brush. The middle of your lid is the highest point of the lid and will make your eyes appear larger and add more dimension once it reflects. These Maybelline single shadows have great pigmentation, don’t smudge or crease, and are affordable.
Step 4: Apply brown shadow with a crease brush in outer V blending towards the center of your crease.
Step 5: Use a liner brush to line the bottom lash line with the same brown shadow to define your eyes softly without giving them a harsh line a liner would. Avoid taking it all the way to the inner corners. Focus on the outer corner your bottom lash line blending it towards the middle.
Step 6: Blend the crease shadow between lid and brown bone with a blending brush and a cream shimmer shadow to help it stand out and appear higher.
Steps 7-9: These next steps are totally optional since this look can be worn more naturally without any liner and mascara alone, but I personally prefer liner. Apply a copper toned liner in the waterline and line your upper lash line with a black liquid liner close to the lash line, slightly winging out to elongate the eyes.
Step 10: To finish it off, top it off with mascara on the upper and lower lashes to open up the eyes.

Roll and Twist Side Ponytail

How To Style :
Step 1 : Spray some texturizer into your hair to give it hold. Next, grab a section of hair from the front left (or right) side of your head and pull it across the back of your head. Secure in place with a bobby pin.
Step 2 : Take a piece of hair from the base of your neck and tuck it over the first piece of hair. Secure with another pin.
Step 3 : Continue to take pieces from the base of your neck and tuck them into the roll. Continue using pins to ensure a good hold.
Step 4 : Once you’ve reached the opposite side of your head, pull the majority of your hair into a ponytail right by your ear and tie with an elastic.
Step 5 : Take the remaining free section and pull it next to your ear and underneath the base of the pony. Wrap it over the top and around again until there’s virtually no hair left.
Step 6 : Secure the remaining end of the loose strand under the pony with a bobby pin to keep it hidden.

TWISTED PONYTAIL TUTORIAL

how to get the look
Step 1 – Clip away two sections of hair either side of your face.
Step 2 – Put the rest of your hair in a ponytail and secure with an elastic.
Step 3 – Separate the side section into three equal parts.
Step 4-5 – Starting with the lowest section, twist the hair up and wrap it around your ponytail. Secure the end with a bobby pin.
Step 6 – Repeat on the other side and continue twisting and pinning each section around your ponytail.
Step 7-8 – A tip for keeping the ends in place is to tease the end of each section and put the bobby pin on the end of the section of hair. Then wrap in around and pin it in place. Putting the pin on the end of you hair first makes it so much easier to do.
